Skincare and Makeup Preparation

To prep and hydrate the skin for a fresh glow and gorgeous makeup look first prep skin with Lancôme Advanced Génifique Face Serum. For moisturization and a smooth base massage in Lancôme Absolue Revitalizing & Brightening Soft Cream on skin and Lancôme Absolue Revitalizing Eye Cream under eyes, letting it absorb for a bit before blotting with blotting paper on t-zone.

Face Makeup

When wearing makeup for a big event using a makeup primer is one of the smartest makeup tips you can use. Before applying foundation Nick primed skin with Lancôme Prep & Matte Primer on the t-zone and side of the nose to ensure a long-wearing, shine-free effect. For foundation Nick applied Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation in 550 all over the face using a sponge. In the areas where additional coverage was needed Nick applied Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear All Over Concealer in 550 underneath the eyes. To set makeup into place and add additional coverage to ensure a red carpet ready look Nick Applied Lancôme Dual Finish Powder Foundation in 550 all over face using a powder puff.

Lupita Nyong’o Golden Eye Makeup

For a big event and a dramatic and creative eye makeup look first start off by applying Lancôme Prime It Boost It all over the eyelids to prime the eyes for longer wearing eyeshadow.

To create the beautiful golden eye makeup look Nick used Lancôme Hypnôse 5-Color Eyeshadow Palette in Reflet D’Amethyste on the eyelids. Use the dark matte brown eyeshadow to contour the crease and create shape and definition to the eyes. To create the golden effect, apply the golden shade just to the center of the eyelids. To achieve intense color payoff, use a wet flat brush to apply.

For eyeliner Nick used Lancôme Idôle Liner to define the upper lash line. To create the look Nick recommends using small short strokes to apply the eyeliner. “It’s easier and faster when you don’t try to do one perfect line from start to finish. I usually start by lining the whole upper lash lines then I decide on the wings later, this way it’s a lot easier to control symmetry as well.”

For the lashes finish off by applying 2 coats of Lancôme Lash Idôle Mascara for voluminous, defined lashes. Lash Idôle helps to provide curve and lift to the lashes for a fluttery fanned out effect.

Lupita Nyong’o Red Lips

Whilst the eyes are a key standout of this look the lips play an important part too. For this bold and dramatic look makeup artist Nick applied Lancôme Le Lip Liner in Mauvelle to line the lips and then applied Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge Lipstick in Mademoiselle Lupita. To top it off and further enhance the overall golden tones of Lupita’s look Nick applied a dot of Lancôme Juicy Tubes in Hallucination in the center of the lips to add a golden sheen.
