PROTECTING NATURE AND BIODIVERSITY
HAVING A POSITIVE IMPACT
We harness green chemistry and biotechnology to limit the use of natural resources.
PROTECTING NATURE AND BIODIVERSITY
Lancôme is contributing to protecting biodiversity by implementing regenerative agricultural practices including sustainable sourcing and organic cultivation of roses, improving packaging and formulas to limit the impact of products on the environment, and by partnering with leading institutions to further help preserve biodiversity.
HAVING A POSITIVE IMPACT
We are limiting our overall agricultural footprint thanks to the sustainable and fair trade cultivation and sourcing of ingredients.
We harness green chemistry and biotechnology to limit the use of natural resources.
PROTECT BIODIVERSITY AT A GLANCE
Roses used in skincare and makeup are organic.
70% of the ingredients in our skincare formulas are biodegradable, helping us limiting our impact on natural resources.
We have 10% recycled glass in our total volumes today, with the aim of reaching 30% by 2025.

PARTNERING WITH LEADING INSTITUTIONS
IMPROVING THE WAY WE GROW
In our fields in Grasse and Valensole, in the South of France, we are growing roses and other plant species in an organic and sustainable way. Our estate in Grasse, where endogenous, wild and ancestral plant species are being reintroduced, is in the process of becoming a shelter of biodiversity. Listen to Emmanuelle Ravel, one of our organic rose farmers, to find out more about rose cultivation in the region.
INNOVATING TO CREATE SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTS
We innovate product packaging to favor the use of more recyclable materials and circular solutions.
PARTNERING WITH LEADING INSTITUTIONS
Beyond our own practices, we will support projects that protect biodiversity, especially rare or endangered plant species, by partnering with institutions and experts across the globe including France’s National Museum of Natural History.
