How to Get Amanda Seyfriend Makeup Look

Though the 2021 Golden Globe Awards were a virtual affair this year — part of the safety precautions due to COVID — actress and Lancôme Ambassadress Amanda Seyfried looked as sophisticated and elegant as ever from afar, serving up a glamorous, Old Hollywood vibe at home. Think of it as red carpet makeup made safe.

Seyfried, who was nominated for a Golden Globe in the Best Supporting Actress category for her role in Mank, wore a romantic makeup look that paired perfectly with her dramatic, floral-embellished gown. It was inspired by “40’s Hollywood glamour with a modern twist,” says celebrity makeup artist Genevieve Herr, who dreamed up the awards show-worthy look. Here, the exact makeup and skincare products Herr used to create Amanda Seyfried’s makeup look — no Golden Globes red carpet needed.

Pre-Makeup Skincare Prep

A gorgeous complexion starts with a good skincare routine, especially for a red carpet look. The night before the Golden Globes, Amanda Seyfried prepped her skin with Advanced Genifique Face Serum, which boosts hydration and radiance. The glowing result was evident even with the award show’s videoconference format and the perfect canvas for red carpet makeup.

Complexion Perfection

Seyfried’s skin looked like soft-focus perfection on the Golden Globes red carpet, and a few key products helped — in addition to the face serum, of course. Before applying makeup, Genevieve applied Prep & Hydrate Primer all over Amanda’s skin to create a smooth, hydrated base for seamless makeup application.

Next, Genevieve applied Teint Idôle Ultrawear Makeup Stick as a concealer only where needed, including under the eyes for added brightness. She then used a darker shade of the Teint Idôle Ultrawear Makeup Stick to contour Amanda’s cheekbones, jawline and around her nose, blending it in with the built-in kabuki brush.

Last but certainly not least, Seyfried’s natural flush echoed the color of her peach-toned for the Golden Globes red carpet look. Herr achieved that by blending Blush Subtil Palette in Nectar Lace into her cheeks with her fingers.

Eye Essentials

Not to steal the awards show, Amanda Seyfried’s eye makeup look was subtler and softer than your average smokey eye. First, Herr used Le Crayon Kohl in Black Coffee to line the lashes from the inner corner of the eye to the outer before extending it out into a small wing.

Then, she used an angled brush to blend and soften the line before adding shades from the Color Design Eyeshadow Palette in Bois Corail, applying the lightest shade in the eyeshadow palette to highlight and brighten the inner corner of Seyfried’s eyes. Herr then darkened and extended the crease outward to create the look of a natural smokey eye. She finished the look with a generous coat of Lash Idôle Mascara, which created the appearance of lash extensions, and lightly defined Seyfried’s brows with Brow Define Pencil.

Lip Look

The lips had a supporting role of their own for the Golden Globes red carpet, with a nude hue that didn’t upstage the smokey eye for the night. Herr lined Amanda’s lips with Le Lip Liner in Bronzelle for both staying power and definition — it’s a long night, even virtually — and topped it off with L’Absolu Rouge Hydrating Sheer Lipstick in Beige Mirage, a pink-nude shade. It was the perfect touch for Seyfried’s red carpet look.
